Shaving brush horsehair 502 Ambra H – Zenith
Zenith 502 Ambra H is a shaving brush with a hair made of 50% with horse mane hair and 50% with horse tail hair. Handle in amber colored resin and gold colored ring.
The realization of this type of brush does not cause any kind of damage to the animal because the cutting of the horsehair is part of the normal grooming routine of the horse.
Extremely soft on the face and generally less pungent than best badger brushes, horsehair shaving brushes maintains the shape of the hair longer over time than badger hair shaving brushes.
DIMENSIONS
Hair height: approx. 55 mm
Handle height: approx. 60 mm
Knot diameter: approx 27 mm
Handmade in Italy by Pennellificio Pandolfo with the traditional method and by skilled labor.
The use of the shaving brush, compared to the use of cans of foam or hand spreadable gel, leads to the softening of the hair and at the same time lifts them favoring shaving. This effect is not achieved when the foam is spread with the hands.
For this reason the shaving brush is the choice of those who use straight razors or traditional safety razors.
At the same time, even those who use the multi-blade razor can obtain great benefits from the use of soap and brush.

Maher (verified owner) –
I always wanted to get a horse hair brush. I used many Zenith brushes before and it’s my favorite brushes brand.
The brush comes in a nice box with microfiber cleaning cloths.
Usually I keep the brush in cold water for whole day, then rinse the brush (I repeat this process 3 nights) to break and soften the brush before use.
On first use, the brush feels comfortable on face and holding. Bristles are a little bit stiff on the middle, and soft on outer bristles. After 6 months of daily use, the brush becomes softer with time, but still the middle part feels stiffer than outer bristles. Nothing irritating though.
I used the brush with creams as well as hard soaps, both in face lather and bowl lather scenario and it generates a very good amount of lather enough for 3-4 passes.
The brush smelled very animalic out of the box, then after 2 weeks of use the smell gone.
Compared to other Zenith brushes I owned, more bristles sheds out of this brush (around 7 fall down) within 6 months, compared to 1 or 2 bristles for the badger, boar and synthetic brushes.
When the brush came, the whole bristles color were black, with usage, the color shifted to dark brown.
Overall, good horse brush to own. Zenith brushes always a good value and high quality.
