Safety Razor Satin SILVER HAWK SE – Razorock

RazoRock with this new razor wanted to update the existing version. The shaving geometry has NOT changed, so it has the same performance as the original HAWK, there have simply been significant improvements in aesthetics, weight and blade insertion.

The changes specifically are as follows:

The cap has been rounded for the most natural shaving feel possible
Strengthened the safety bar on the plate with a new three-slot design, this prevents the front edge from being damaged if it is accidentally hit or if the razor suffers a small fall.
The handle has been reworked by adding a moveable piece to the backplate that allows the handle to be lengthened or shortened for better handling.

This razor is CNC machined from 6061 aluminium and finished in satin silver. Aluminium was chosen for two reasons: lightness (thus reducing the overall weight of the razor), aluminium is much faster and cheaper to machine and finish.

For SE newbies:

If you’ve never shaved with an SE razor before, we urge you to start slowly and not apply too much pressure with the razor. SE blades are thicker, sharper and stiffer than DE blades and take a few strokes to get the hang of. Use the razor for 12-15 shaves in a row before judging whether you like SE shaving or not and if you want to start with something basic consider using FEATHER PRO GUARD.
When mounting the razor, make sure you don’t apply excessive force as aluminium is softer than steel and can bend and damage much more easily. When screwing on the handle with a blade inserted, we strongly recommend keeping the razor head inside a thick towel in case it slips.

KAI Captain Titan Mild Protouch MG Blade (protected blade)
FEATHER Professional Super Blades will also work but will make the razor very aggressive and I would not recommend them. FEATHER Professional LIGHT blades will not work in the Hawk.
