The Explorer, to my less-than-sensitive nose, is a fairly simple warmly woody, perhaps very slightly sweet scent. I’d even say there is something synthetic about it, but not in a bad way. I do not adore it quite as much as I used to, not after falling in love with the Gent instead, but it is a nice choice for those days when I just want something simple, something that just works.
The performance of the splash is great! Very similar to Southern Witchcrafts, but perhaps just a pinch quicker to soak in. Despite having no alcohol, it does seem to have a bit of feedback — perhaps from the witch hazel? — if used after a shave that went less than perfectly, like my first-ever head shave. Other than that, it’s gentle, light, and moisturising. I am terrible at reading descriptions apparently, so I expected a balm, but I don’t regret this one bit!

A mio parere il prodotto è ottimo e vale assolutamente la spesa, si tratta di un latte abbastanza liquido, quindi facile da stendere sul viso anche in caso di irritazioni. Dona una buona freschezza e tanto relax alla pelle che dopo poco risulterà morbida ed elastica. La profumazione è la stessa della crema da barba molto piacevole e non troppo invasiva, si fa sentire in modo delicato, si distinguono bene limone legni e vetiver combinati in modo molto armonioso. La persistenza è buona, nel mio caso circa 4-5 ore. Mi ritengo soddisfatto dell’acquisto e sicuramente lo ricomprerei, anche se, personalmente, preferisco aftershave alcoolici poichè ritengo che lo schiaffo alcoolico abbia sempre il suo perché!
